What's a Breathwork Coach?

First, let's describe the duties of a breathwork coach so you can determine whether it's a good career path for you.

As a breathwork coach, you'll teach others to control their breathing to manage things like anxiety and stress. The main goal is to help people improve their mental and physical health simultaneously.

It’s a great career that you can do worldwide, as more and more people are learning and exploring the benefits of breathing. You can have flexibility in your teaching choices too, as you can have in-person one-on-one classes, online group ones, and anything in between. You can even make prerecorded lessons to upload to course platforms and social channels to make things easier.

What's the Difference Between Breathwork and Meditation?

Before you jump into breathwork training, you might be wondering if breathwork and meditation are the same thing. The answer is no, although they are very similar.

As the name suggests, breathwork focuses on active breathing exercises. On the other hand, meditation aims for calmness and tranquility. This means that the topic of breathing is more in the background.

What's great is that you can combine both practices for a holistic experience!

How to Become a Breathwork Coach

There are several ways to become a breathwork coach. A common option is to just attend workshops, then pass that info on to your own clients.

However, the better choice is to enroll in official and accredited programs. Not only does this ensure that you have accurate and up-to-date information, but it also sets you apart from other breathwork coaches.

Consider enrolling in the classes at Reconnect. We have both online and in-person options to accommodate you. You'll have access to high-quality videos, manuals, and other instructor resources.

If you opt for the online course, you'll benefit from weekly live calls. With in-person classes, from our base in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, you'll receive hands-on training and classes.

Either way, you'll work with our founder Kevin Connelly, who has multiple breathwork certificates himself. Kevin’s mission is to inspire a new generation to understand the power of using your breath to combat stress, fatigue, addiction, depression, and more. Reconnect wants to show people how to reclaim hold of their bodies and gain back control.

The courses have flexible 10-month payment plans if you can't afford a one-time payment. And have regular start dates. Check out here when the next courses will begin

Our program is globally accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM), and it's been designed with yoga and freediving techniques in order to have a complete understanding of breath. After learning about breathwork and ice baths, and how they work together, you'll get a breathwork assessment and score. This scoring helps set Reconnect apart in terms of our breathwork approach, as you can support your breathing clients to make measurable progress in their practice, alongside the other more holistic improvements.

Once you've signed up for the Reconnect breathwork instructor course, you'll have lifelong access to all training materials. We'll also provide you with any updates we make to our manual.

Added Value - Ice Bath Instructor Training

The Reconnect breathwork facilitator training has the added bonus of learning how to facilitate ice-bath sessions.

Ice baths have become increasingly popular over the past few years, with people across the globe becoming more aware of the benefits of cold water immersion. At Reconnect, we have harnessed the combined power of breathwork with ice-bath immersions, and have created our own bespoke model to give our participants the best possible ice bath experience.

As part of our Reconnect accredited breathwork training, we will also show you how to provide ice bath therapy to your clients alongside breathwork. This provides you, as an instructor, to then formulate two pathways to income, and reach two audiences which will overlap and become your future clientele.

Our training also contains information about sales and marketing, so that once you have the skills to teach breathwork classes, you’ll also learn how to get started in giving classes too!

How Much Do Breathwork Coaches Get Paid?

Unfortunately, there's no definitive answer here. Because there's so much flexibility with this job, the salary can be painfully low to shockingly high.

The average stated online seems to be around $56,000, although again, this will depend on several factors. Your salary will depend on the types of sessions you do, your location, what types of clients you have, and what experience you have. For example, breathwork coaches with decades of experience who do one-on-one sessions with wealthy clients in a high-demand area will be handsomely paid.

Basically, you'll want to work hard to build a reputation. This will gain you more clients, and in turn, you'll be able to charge more as time goes on. You may even build up such a huge client base that you can run your own workshops, which can be lucrative if you generate enough interest.
